It explains the difference between good and bad, dharma and adharma. in India, there are two epics namely, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata. the Ramayana is all about the combat between Lord Rama and Ravana. It depicts Lord Rama as an Ideal brother, son, husband and ruler and Sita as an Ideal wife. The Ramayana is the first Kavya in Sanskrit literature written by Valmiki. Before the literature, it was narrated orally.
The Mahabharata is all about combat between the Kauravas and the Pandavas. At last, the Pandavas won the war with the help of Lord Sri Krishna. It describes how they solved the challenges and also provides moral values. It was written by Vyasa Maharshi. Before is was orally preached by the storytellers. It was one of the world’s largest poems which inturn consists of hundreds of small poems. Historians assume that these epics took their final form only about 1600 years ago.
